The only bird seed I bother buying is sunflower seed as it seems to be what most of the birds eat. This year it is so exspensive I wasn't going to feed the birds but my wife brought a bag home the other day so I guess we are going to feed them. I'm glad she did because I enjoy watching the birds at the feeders. The red squirrels haven't found them yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.Next year we are going to try to raise enough sunflowers that we won't have to buy seed for the birds.
